Kinver Parish Council have today announced that all celebrations in Kinver should be referred to as “Kinterval” to avoid any awkward problems with people who don’t celebrate Christmas.

A spokesperson for the council said; “We need to move on, and in these more enlightened times, it’s right to change anything that might make people feel a bit uncomfortable, and we’re beginning by renaming the celebrations around the end of December to make sure everyone is included and nobody feels left out.”

This has obviously caused more work for many of the organisations planning events this year, not least those in charge of the late night opening who have had to hastily redesign the posters to fit with the name change.

A cafe in the High Street who asked not to be named said; “We’ve been asked to create a cake called the ‘Kinver Kinterval Kake, but obviously we declined.”
